Queer Student Advisory Committee
The LGBTQIA2S+ Resource Program is looking for a group of up to 15 students to continue the Queer Student Advisory Committee (QSAC).
The purpose of QSAC is to create a strong LGBTQIA2S+ community on campus through involvement, feedback, and queer ambassadorship. Launched in Spring 2024, students have helped develop activities for events, alerted campus leadership to student concerns, participated in outreach, and found support in community; knowing they are building a better queer environment on campus in solidarity with each other and the LGBTQIA2S+ Resource Program!
Want to join and help keep the momentum going? We’d love to have you!
Being a member of QSAC requires the following:
- Attending a monthly group meeting on the 4th Monday of every month from 2pm – 3pm with LGBTQIA2S+ Resource Program Special Projects Manager, Ariel Gentalen (they/them) and fellow committee members.
- Participating and sharing your voice at a minimum of two out of the four meetings each semester to be considered an active committee member.
- You must be enrolled in at least 3 units at Fullerton College.
- Membership will be annual – you’ll serve on the committee for the full year. However, if you are graduating or transferring after Fall 2026, feel free to still sign up! Your voice is important no matter where you are on your journey at FC.
Qualities/Experience of a QASC member:
- Responsible: Remembers when meetings are scheduled, shows up on time, actively participates in discussion and brainstorming activities, and supports QSAC goals.
- Positive: An enthusiasm for creating queer community on campus and sharing space with others. Uplifts other committee members, and understands that while change may take time, we can build a brighter future together.
- A good communicator: Share your ideas with the group, articulate your feelings on queer issues, and stay in touch with the group/group leader on project details/tasks.
Why participate in QASC?
- Gain queer centered leadership experience that you can put on your resume, CV or transfer college application
- You will have a direct impact on event programming, marketing, and student resource support – see your voice take action!
- Be in community with other LGBTQIA2S+ students looking to make a difference
- Help foster the LGBTQIA2S+ community you want to see on campus
- Receive a $50 gift card for attending a minimum of two out of the four meetings each semester, with a maximum of two gift cards available per year on the committee
- Receive a special rainbow pride cord at Lavender Graduation when you matriculate
